This series of paintings examines the material minutiae of life. This work attends to these small still life items through formal devices such as isolation, lighting and color while infusing them with a sense of integrity. These devices bathe the work in a decadent finish that positions them as precious objects. Consequently, this also elevates the status of the paintings in the mind of the viewer.
